In a case referred to by Wofowon, a woman had been exploited by her husband for a long time. Her marriage was a kind of forced one, to a middle aged drunkard (when she was just 15) arranged by her father and step-mother. She solely raised her two children, who are now studying very well. Due to both physical and mental torture, she started living separately with her children. Massage to the newly delivered mothers is her occupation, with which she hardly joins hand to mouth. Despite her husband’s persistent threats not to give divorce, she was determined to divorce after so much of her physical and emotional pains. As she approached CeLRRd she had freshly healed wound and scars around her eyes and in knees. Through CeLRRd’s support, she got divorce through Kathmandu District Court. On the day of her divorce, she seemed happy with the thought that her husband will now have no control over her.
