23 years old, Tara Sharma is a resident of Bharatpur municipality 10 of Chitwan district. Since his economic background was very pitiable he applied for foreign employment in Malaysia from Pukar International Manpower Company of Narayanghad. While in the process they were demanding NRs. 1, 50,000/- when the cost was only NRs. 80,000/- . He went to Chitwan District Administration Office for passport. Meanwhile, he noticed counseling desk being operational on the next door and went there. There, he spent about ten minutes and learnt that if any manpower is taking more than the rate fixed by Nepal Government, s/he can report against this on foreign employment tribunal and that the tribunal on further investigation can make the manpower to pay the loss to the clients. On the subsequent visit to the manpower company, he said that he would not pay more than NRs. 80,000/- . At first, they showed many reasons but when he said that he would report the matter to the higher level, they returned his and the friends’ passports. While trying to know more about the company in Malaysia, they found that the Malaysian employment provider in which they were going did not exist. The man power had cheated them and probably they would land to the risky jobs in Malaysia if they had followed the directions of the manpower. Thus, he seemed to be very grateful towards CeLRRd for protecting him and his friends from vulnerability.
